On September 28, 2020, Mr. Chawalit Tippawanich, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, Rector of Suranaree University of Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the research and development of a solar energy system. Combined Heat and Power Producing Co., Ltd. or CHPP, a renewable power producer and subsidiary of GPSC, will provide the following services to the university: solar power system installation and distribution, installation of an AI energy management system and a highly efficient energy storage system. A budget of about 150 million baht has been allocated for the project, which is expected to be ready for power generation and distribution in 2022. The project will also serve as a learning center on smart energy innovations in the northeastern region for the university’s staff and students, as well as the general public. The signing ceremony was held at Saranites Meeting Room, Administration Building, Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
