GPSC intro duces three winning innovative inventions from GPSC Young Social Innovator 2021 Season 4. Winning prizes include the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy and scholarship. GPSC fully supports winners to enter the international competitions, prevailing previous success of 14 winning awards recognized in the global stages for three consecutive seasons. The achievement has reflected Thai young generation as the creative innovators who can cultivate natural resources for practical invention with real benefits for community.

On 6 March 2002, Mr. Sirimet Leepagorn, Chief Operating Officer, Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, reveals that the company has announced the winners of GPSC Young Social Innovator 2021 (GPSC YSI) which has been organized for four consecutive years under the concept Sustainable Energy, Natural resource and Environment. Over 450 teams nationwide have submitted their projects under three categories, including Product, Invention, and Process and Service based on the efficiency and eco-friendly power usage along with knowledge development in creating local innovations that are practical and enhance the quality of life. The winner team in each category received H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy, and scholarship worth 50,000 baht. The successful contestants with outstanding showcases are recognized as Thailand’s pride and GPSC is prompted to support Thai youth’s inventions to participate in the international stages. 

The winning schools are as follows:

1. Winner of Product category is
   Team YSI18P: Sornram 2 School:  Sakolrajwittayanukul School
   Project name:  Chitosan and development of local fabric.
2. Winner of Invention category is
   Team YSI27I: Fingerprint lifter  Schoo:l  Anukoolnaree School
   Project name: Fingerprint lifter from natural polymers
3. Winner of Process and Service category is
   Team YSI04S: PCSHS PHETCHABURI School: Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Phetchaburi
   Project: name Water treatment and controlling agent for Ornamental fish cultivation from tannin in dried tropical almond leaves

Mr. Sirimet further stated that this year the company also prepared awards for 30 teams qualified as first- runner up. These finalists of 8 schools are presented with gold medals, 12 schools for silver medals, and 6 schools for bronze medals. The awards would inspire youngsters to develop their potential to create inventions and innovations by maximizing natural resources to achieve the optimal benefits and values. The inventions are aspired to feature as the role models of creativity to leverage local community, quality of life as well as the foundation for new knowledge development as Thailand is stepping into the dynamic movement of technologies and innovations from all over the world.

The project is aimed to raise awareness of the values of natural resources among Thai youth so that they will utilize them wisely and bring great benefits to the community, including the quality of life development and effective environmental conservation. These purposes are aligned with GPSC business development goal along with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. 

Throughout the three seasons of the GPSC YSI, Thai young generations are testified in the global stage with their inventions and are acclaimed for international acceptance as well as build reputations for Thailand with over 14 winning awards at Seoul International Invention Fair, World Invention Innovation Contest South Korea, International British Innovation, Invention, Technology Exhibition or IBIX 2020 in London, UK, and the 32nd International Invention, and Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2021) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Driven by their success, these winning youngsters have further developed their inventions for practical use to generate maximum benefit to the society.
