GPSC Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective from December 1, 2020. The new CEO will be moving the innovative and sustainable power in global level forward, preparing the company for further business expansions in both domestic and overseas, and supporting new S-curve technology that offers solutions for the future energy business.

Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC has announced that the Board of Directors had resolved in the meeting No. 13/2020 on November 6, 2020, to acknowledge the resignation of Mr. Chawalit Tippawanich from the position of Director, Member of the Risk Management Committee and President and Chief Executive Officer of GPSC with effective from December 1, 2020 and to appoint Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri as the new Director, Member of the Risk Management Committee and President and Chief Executive Officer of GPSC with effective from December 1, 2020 onwards.

The appointment was to ensure the smooth operations and continuity at GPSC. Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri is qualified with many years of experience and expertise in technology and innovation management, which is in line with GPSC’s vision and growth strategy as the global leading innovative and sustainable power company and the innovative power flagship of PTT Group. One of the company’s goals is to expand its business by increasing production capacity both domestically and overseas to create energy security and stability as well as develop energy innovations in preparation for the S-Curve business model that will accommodate technological changes and generate revenue in the future.

Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri, 54, is currently Senior Executive Vice President, Innovation and Digital of PTT Public Company Limited. He has been with PTT Group for over 20 years and has held several senior positions including Executive Vice President, Downstream Business Group Planning of PTT Public Company Limited, Executive Vice President, Downstream Business Group Collaboration of PTT Public Company Limited and President of PTT MCC Biochem Company Limited etc.

He has a Master of Business Administration from Thammasat University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from Chulalongkorn University. He has also completed a number of executive leadership programs both in Thailand and abroad including the Director Certification Program (DCP) by the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD), NIDA – Wharton Executive Leadership Program by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA etc.
