Recently, company within Group of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovation power flagship of the PTT Group, having Mr. Sirimet Leepakorn, President and Acting Chief Operating Officer, signed a Power Supply Agreement with Denka SCGC Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. or DSAM, having Mr. Yukihiro Tsunekawa, Managing Director. DSAM is a joint venture between SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited or SCGC and Denka Company Limited or Denka Japan to produce and sell acetylene black (“Acetylene Black”).

The Power Supply Agreement supports DSAM’s Acetylene Black manufacturing facility located in Rayong Province, which will have an annual production capacity of approximately 11,000 tons and is expected to complete within 2026. Under this agreement, GPSC provides a highly reliable electricity supply for Acetylene Black production.  

DSAM’s Acetylene Black is a unique type of carbon black with high purity and electrical conductivity. It is  a conductive material used in EV lithium-ion batteries and high-voltage power transmission cables of offshore wind farm, and other related applications. This DSAM joint venture is aligned with SCGC’s strategy to elevate its High Value-Added (HVA) product and support expansion into the EV lithium-ion battery value chain.  

This agreement reinforces confidence in GPSC’s expertise, reliability and proven record for the power generation and distribution stability. It demonstrates GPSC’s capability to support increasing electricity demand while enhancing the competitiveness, operational strength, and leadership of Denka SCGC Advanced Materials in the Acetylene Black market.
