July 27, 2016 - Nava Nakorn Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. (NNEG) today held the opening ceremony of NNEG power plant that will contribute eco-socio value for national development. Due to the Nava Nakorn industrial users' rising electricity and steam demand, three partners, including Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. (RATCHGEN), Nava Nakorn PCL.(NNCL), and Global Power Synergy PCL. (GPSC) have planned to develop NNEG power plant, phase II.

General Akaradej Sasiprapa, NNEG Chairman, and Mr. Surachai Khan-arsa, Pathum Thani governor, jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the natural gas-fired NNEG power plant, with 125-MW distributed electricity generation and 30-ton/hour steam. The plant has successfully commenced its commercial operation since June 3, 2016.

After success in the first phase's operation, all partners are ready to develop NNEG power plant, phase II. NNEG is now studying the cogeneration technology to enhance electricity and steam generation capacity in response to the nation’s energy efficiency policy. The construction of phase II is projected to complete within three years. Aside from its mission to secure the national power grid, this project will secure infrastructure in terms of electricity and steam supply for factories in Nava Nakorn industrial zone.

Awarded firm power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), this power plant is operated by NNEG – the joint venture of three listed companies specialized in energy and real estate businesses, including RATCH's subsidiary, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd (40% shareholding), NNCL (30%), and GPSC (30%).
